Vous êtes cordialement invités à la conférence du Pr. T. GOVINDARAJU du Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Inde, organisée par l'ICPEES.

Résumé :

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common and dominant form of dementia, which affects millions of people worldwide. There are no approved diagnosis or disease modifying therapies due to multifactorial nature of the disease. The production, processing, accumulation and aggregation of protein in the human brain is considered as one of the hallmarks of the disease. Additional trait of toxicity is induced by the generation of excessive chemically reactive species leading to oxidative stress, inflammation and aberrant neuronal activity, all of which leads to multifaceted toxicity. Therefore, it is crucial to detect, monitor and understand the role of various biomarkers involved in multifaceted toxicity. In this context, we have been developing diagnostic and therapeutic agents to monitor and inhibit the multifaceted toxicity. In this talk, I shall present some of our host-guest and reaction-based red and NIR fluorescence probes as promising candidates to develop diagnostic and theranostics tools for Alzheimer’s disease.
