ECPM students among the winners

01 April 2022

The winners of the "Innovons ensemble Alsace Tech" competition were rewarded Thursday evening at the Strasbourg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of Herbert Castéran (president of Alsace Tech and director general of EM Strasbourg), Romuald Boné (director of INSA Strasbourg and vice-president of Alsace Tech), Patrick Reimeringer (vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and director general of Bürkert France) and Michel de Mathelin (first vice-president of the University of Strasbourg). Partners and representatives of the Alsace Tech network schools came to celebrate the creativity, commitment and perseverance of the students.

Among the winners, there are 2 chemical engineering students from ECPM. Katsiaryna Kotava, with the Alvéole team also composed of Hugo Beaumont (ENGEES), Estelle Brault (ENGEES), Manon Jourdan (ECAM Strasbourg Europe), and Marie Palaniak (ENSISA), won the 3rd prize for her project of a modular and compartmentalized waste garbage can that facilitates and encourages selective sorting.

The Sensible team, composed of Léa Antoni (ECPM), Malika Abouyeva (IUT LP), Marie-Anne Achille (ENSCMu), Célia Chilali (ENSCMu), Cécile Gruner (IUT LP) and Laura Sochan (ENSCMu), was recognized as a "100% female initiative" by Alsace Active, which awarded it the women's entrepreneurship prize. Sensible's project was to develop an innovative sun cream based on lignin, an atypical and original component with interesting characteristics in terms of sun protection.

Over 13 editions, the "Innovons ensemble" competition has brought together 939 students, 188 projects and seen the birth of 7 companies, including two last year.

2022 records :

1st prize: an immersive experience in the heart of the city

The first prize this year was awarded to the mobile application project "Jeu découvre Strasbourg".
This digital medium is aimed at a public visiting Strasbourg and wishing to discover its history and heritage in a different way. The project will also allow users to travel through time thanks to augmented reality. The concept is both innovative and interactive for an immersion in the heart of the city. It could then be deployed in other territories. The winners emphasized the importance of meetings and interdisciplinarity within the team.

Application allowing visitors to discover the history, heritage and secrets of a city in a fun and interactive way.

2nd prize: maintaining the cold chain for street vendors

The second prize in the innovation and entrepreneurship competition was awarded to the Koolkiper project.
The refrigeration system is designed to allow street vendors to maintain the cold chain with ease and efficiency, especially in regions and countries with high outside temperatures. The idea is summed up in the product slogan: "With Koolkiper, sandwiches will only get better!" The project also won the award for best video presentation and the award given by the Semia incubator, which distinguishes innovative projects that are particularly remarkable in their entrepreneurial development prospects.

Koolkiper - project led by Firmin Amegee (EM Strasbourg), Barbara Hvidt (HEAR) and Gaëlle Vacherand (ENSCMu)
Autonomous and portable mini-refrigerator providing continuous cold, using 50% less energy and having an easy maintenance for mobile vendors.

3rd prize: the garbage can of tomorrow

The third prize was awarded Thursday evening to the Alvéole project.
At a time when the interior of the home and waste management are omnipresent subjects, the team of future engineers from four different schools has imagined a waste disposal unit integrated into the kitchen area. This waste garbage can of the future will be customizable in order to adapt the size of the compartments to the real needs of the users. The product will be made from recycled materials in order to respect the environment. During their defense, the winners emphasized their pride in having built a complete project as a team.

Alsace Active award for female entrepreneurship

Alsace Active, partner of the competition, rewarded the 100% female initiative of the evening.
The team behind the Sensible sun cream project is made up of six students from very different backgrounds: chemistry, financial management and business.
Together, they designed a cosmetic product that respects the skin and the environment, based on lignin.
