Integrated Preparatory Cycle
The Integrated Preparatory Cycle (CPI) is a programme of scientific studies leading to engineering careers in the fields of chemistry and chemical engineering (materials, energies, the environment, pharmacy, agribusiness, etc). It is a two-year preparation for admission to one of the 20 French engineering schools in chemistry and chemical engineering that are members of the Gay-Lussac Federation.
At the ECPM, the preparatory cycle is an international programme (CPI-Chem.I.St) open to French and international students who have obtained a baccalaureate or equivalent secondary school diploma.
The ECPM's CPI is a multicultural class that welcomes students from the world over. It is also the only CPI offering scientific courses in English and German (about 20%). Courses delivered in German are offered concurrently in French.
Progression into the 2nd year, and then admission to an engineering programme, is decided on by an examining committee according to results of continuous assessment.
The CPI offers:
- a solid foundation in sciences (Maths, Physics and Chemistry)
- a multicultural environment
- an international orientation with courses in the social sciences.
